What this is
A puzzle a day about Terra. Each one asks five questions about what actually happened on the chain in the day before the first reading: how many transactions went through the exchange, how much LUNA sits in liquid staking, how many wallets used the money market, how many blocks the chain produced. You guess each number, then see the answer, how far off you were and what the number means.
It exists because most people who use Terra, including people who use it every day, have very little idea what these numbers are. Neither did we, until we started measuring them.
Where the numbers come from
The Openfields recorders read the chain every ten minutes and write what they read to a public log. The same readings are behind Terra Data and Terra Status. They come from the contracts and the chain itself, not from any app’s own interface.
- Each puzzle is answered from the first reading of its day in each log, written a few minutes after midnight UTC.
- A first reading is never changed afterwards, so the answers are the same for everyone, whenever and wherever they play.
- The puzzle opens only once every log has its first reading, so it never changes under someone already playing.
- Every answer links to the exact line of the log it came from, so any of them can be checked.
The numbers are what the recorders read. If a public node answered wrongly, the recorder wrote down a wrong answer, and the puzzle would ask about it. The log keeps that visible rather than hiding it.
Scoring
Closeness is measured as a ratio, so being half the answer and being double it are the same miss, and the scale works the same for 13 wallets as for 300 million LUNA. An exact answer scores 100. Points fall with how many times out a guess is and reach zero at ten times out.
The result you can share holds only the tiles and the total. It never contains the answers, so posting it spoils nothing for anyone who has not played.
What this is not
- No wallet. You never connect one, and there is nothing to sign or send.
- No stakes. There is no entry fee, nothing to buy and nothing to pay, and there never will be.
- No prizes. Nothing of value can be won: no tokens, no rewards, no allocations, no rankings with anything attached.
- No accounts and no leaderboard. There is nothing to sign up for and nobody is ranked.
- No prices. No question asks about the price of any token, and nothing here is a forecast.
- No advice. The numbers describe how the chain is used. None of it is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and none of it says what anyone should do.
Privacy
Nothing about you is kept on our side. There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
- Your answers, scores and streak are kept in your own browser’s local storage, on your device, because the game needs them to remember where you are. They are never sent anywhere. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them completely.
- The typeface is served from this site rather than loaded from a third party, so opening a page does not send your address to anyone else.
- The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, it receives the technical details a browser sends when it loads a page, such as its IP address, and keeps them in short-lived logs to run and protect the service. Nothing from those logs is used to identify, profile or follow anyone.
- The links to the public log go to GitHub. If you follow one, GitHub’s own privacy terms apply there.
Independence
Terra Daily is an independent project and part of Openfields, a set of open tools for Terra. It is not an official Terra product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Terraform Labs, Phoenix Foundation, the Phoenix Directive, or any protocol the questions ask about. “Terra” names the chain the questions are about. Protocol names are used only to say which numbers a question is about.
